How long does the hair have to be to get a wax?
Normally, about 2 to 3 weeks of hair growth, approximately 1/4”.
How should I prepare for waxing?
No sun exposure 48 hours prior to waxing. Lightly exfoliate the area to be waxed a few days before waxing. On the day of your waxing, be sure you thoroughly cleanse the area being waxed and it is free of oils or lotions.
How should I take care of my skin after waxing?
Avoid natural tanning 24 hrs. and tanning booths 48 hrs. Avoid scented lotions, perfumes anything alcohol based.
Does Waxing Hurt?
The first time hurts more than any other time. If you wax regularly, you are removing less hair each time; less discomfort. Women should avoid waxing during their periods – the skin is most sensitive during this time.
Do I have to take my undergarments off when I get a bikini wax?
No, not if you are not comfortable. For a regular bikini wax you will be provided with disposable underwear to wear during the service which makes it easier for the esthetician. Your esthetician should also discuss with you where you would like for your bikini line to fall. Your esthetician is a professional and should make sure you are comfortable and understand the procedure. If you do not feel at ease with your esthetician find one that make you feel at ease with your waxing experience.
How long does it last between waxing?
It depends on how fast your hair grows, anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks. The longer you are on a waxing schedule, the longer it will last. Hair grows in cycles; it may take up to 3 waxing sessions to have all your hair on the same cycle. This means your legs will probably not be smooth for about 3 waxing appointments.
